Ubisoft creates interactive treasure hunt

In the game Division 2, the world has collapsed—a smallpox hybrid virus has decimated a great part of humankind. Every source of information is shut down.

So for the release of Ubisoft’s The Division 2, DDB Paris created an interactive treasure hunt to immerse players in this post-apocalyptic world. A chatbot on messenger that used geo-localization and native AR Technology called ECHO was created. 50 AR stories linked to site-specific locations such as restaurants, schools or banks were developed. Each story enabled people to witness what could have happened in their neighborhood if The Division 2 events became a reality.
